TV in Purse Is the Gift that Keeps on Giving

December 22nd, 2008 by Andrea Edmunds

Is it a bag? Or is it a TV? The BagTV is a line of handbags that have an integrated 7″ DVD/MP3 player in the bag. Wow. When I first saw this, I thought it was way too much. Come on, a TV in your handbag? Really.

At first thought it seems like the most impractical of all places to put a TV. But then, on second thought, we came up with a few ideas (with help from other blog sources as well) of how putting a TV in your purse really is the most practical thing you could do and why it would be a gift this holiday season that could keep on giving.

  • Use it to show off pictures to friends and family. We all know showing people pictures from your cell phone or digital camera is so last season’s purses.
  • As one article put it, you can catch up on Sex and the City while you’re in the bathroom stall. Enough said.
  • Keeps the kids close. Pop in their favorite movie, hang the bag on your arm and the kids will be glued to your side.
  • Prop it up on the desk and watch a season of Heroes at work?

Ok, that’s all we’ve got. I tried, but I’m pretty certain this product doesn’t really have a whole lot to recommend it other than really stretched out ideas. Unfortunately, I’m pretty certain it won’t make something like this go away. They still keep making weird purses like the LED-illuminated bag and the fries box LCD TV. We’re expecting next they’ll include an LCD in an umbrella (nothing brightens a rainy day like an episode of Golden Girls?) or one that can go on my makeup compact. For some less ridiculous gift ideas and technology, check out these other blog posts:
