Finally a chance to play Guitar Hero with skill AND girlish style. Yes it’s true, no more having to deal with that original orange and black guitar clashing with your perfect rocker outfit. Video Game New Years

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 by Taylor Thomas

Chances are you’ll be spending some time with video games tonight as you ring in the New Year. We’re guessing that amidst the periodic peek at what’s happening in New York and the occasional snack and beverage, there will be a whole lot of video gaming going on. What better way to bid farewell to 2008 and welcome in 2009? The obvious contenders will be party games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Lips, Dance Dance (insert version here), and anything on the Wii.

Xbox Live folks can dress up for the occasion, with a variety of new clothes for their avatar. The fellas may sport:

Xbox 360 and PS3 Game Sale at Target

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 by David Aamodt

Some good soul got you an Xbox 360 for Christmas, eh? By now you’re probably getting a bit sick of playing Lego Indiana Jones. That shiny new PlayStation 3 sure would get some more use if you could actually afford to buy games after blowing all your Christmas money on it. When did gaming get so darn expensive?

Well, before you go sell your blood and pawn the family heirloom candlesticks to get your gaming fix, swing by your local Target. They’ve just cut prices on some new PS3 and Xbox 360 games you’ve been itching to play (they’re even throwing a bone or two to Wii owners too). These are some exceptionally appealing games on sale:

Toys ‘R’ Us Guitar Hero Bundle for 40 Bucks

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 by David Aamodt

The only person that looks worse than the real Steven Tyler is the freaky CGI version in Guitar Hero. His mouth is even gianter and would look better with baleen than it does with teeth. Despite Steven Tyler’s unsettling appearance, Aerosmith managed to make some good music back in their prime. And man, that Liv Tyler sure looked good in the music video Crazy when I was twelve… who am I kidding? She still looks good in that video.

And if like me, you regularly dance in the dark to wholesome hits like Sweet Emotion and Livin’ on the Edge, you’re going to want to consider Toys ‘R’ Us’ bargain deal on the Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Bundle for PS3 or Xbox 360.

What do Wii do Now?

Saturday, December 27th, 2008 by Taylor Thomas

So you got a Nintendo Wii for Christmas? Judging by the news we kept hearing about the scarcity at retail stores, and Amazon still making a killing on them regardless of an economic recession, there are a lot more Wiis out there, and most of them were anxiously waiting under a tree near you.

So you unwrapped your new prized possession, and have spent the last few days playing the games that came bundled with it (likely Mario Kart, Wii Play, Wii Sports, Carnival Games, and Wii Fit if you were able to find it). And though you likely haven’t gotten tired of the thing yet, you might be interested in what’s coming for the Wii console in the future. So let your sibling have their turn while you take a minute and read about a few features coming to your Wii soon:

Jasper Poll: How did You Get a Jasper Xbox 360?

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008 by CJ Preece

Hopefully I haven’t angered the ravenous hordes of frothing Twilight fans with the title. I mean no disrespect and I certainly don’t want crazy tweens or bored housewives stalking me for misleading headlines. To be clear: this post is in no way whatsoever about Twilight, Jasper the vampire, or Jackson Rathbone.

I just want to know how you got your Jasper Xbox 360. Click through to take my poll.

Xbox Live Fireplace

Monday, December 22nd, 2008 by Taylor Thomas

Even if holiday oriented video gaming is your thing, the Xbox Live downloadable fireplace isn’t likely to warm your spirits. The festive Yule log is a decent enough idea, but just doesn’t hold a candle to the previously reported on Xbox Live Winter Snow globe. First and foremost is the cost. While the snow globe is free, the virtual fireplace costs 400 Microsoft points, or $5. In light of adding some fuel to the otherwise lackluster fire, may we suggest a few additions that would have made for a hotter Xbox fireplace:
